The DEPARTMENT.

The Computer Department was born in 1996. It is the newest computer department in the university as of today (Oct'98). Keeping in mind the importance of exposure to the right kind of hardware, the computer laboratory has been totally modernised. It now houses two Pentium II based servers serving a LAN of about 25 terminals. Each terminal is a Pentium 200-MMX based mid-range system running Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0. The other three laboratories also house similar equipment.

The lab is also equipped with a Hewelett Packard High-End Plotter capable of continous colour printouts apart from two Inkjet (HP) and three Dot Matrix (Epson) printers. The LAN is modernised and is connected via two 24-port Hubs. Each terminal on the LAN has languages like Turbo C++, Turbo Pascal, C, Cobol etc. installed apart from other packages. It has also procured a TCP/IP Internet connection from VSNL.
